A historical perspective on Orange County’s Fire and EMS agencies’ decision to undertake CAD-to-CAD interoperability, and how it resulted in improved emergency response, conserving tax-payer dollars, and ultimately saving more lives and property.
Orange County CA was created as a separate political entity from Los Angeles County on March 11, 1889. With a current population of over 3,000,000, it is bordered by Los Angeles County on the north and west, San Bernardino County on the northeast, Riverside County on the east and San Diego County on the southeast. It has a land area of 789 square miles. The county includes 34 incorporated cities, the county seat being Santa Ana.
